Hello Everyone,

I was asked to post the vocab crossword for chapters 3-6 so here it is. Sorry I didn't post it in my last entry. For some reason the crossword section doesn't show up well on the wiki site I have up for you assignments so I am posting here on the blog. You can copy and paste it into a word document if you have lost it.

See you all tomorrow and thanks again to those who helped out with the grade 7 day today (especially those who braved getting beaned in the head with sunflower seeds in Mr. Low's class).

Not sure if this was where I post it....

Had the dwarves and Gandalf found out that Bilbo had used the magic ring to escape the mountains, they would have gone back to treating him the way they did before. By not telling the dwarves and Gandalf, Bilbo had some new found respect from the dwarves, seeing him as not completely useless. The dwarves saw that Bilbo is capable of taking care of himself and that they underestimated him and his capabilities. If the dwarves knew that the only reason that Bilbo escaped is because of the magic ring, then they would see him as they did before, completely useless and is incapable of making it through this quest without the constant help of the dwarves. Also by telling the dwarves about the ring, it could cause the dwarves to want to keep the rings for themselves, thinking that it would be in useless hands if it was with Bilbo. By not telling about the ring, Gandalf was right because he showed that Bilbo is useful and could do go on through this quest like the dwarves. If Bilbo had revealed that he had the ring to help him escape, then they still wouldn’t understand Gandalf’s reason for taking him on the quest.
