I got a request to repost the Book of Letters assignment. It was originally posted back on Feb 17th. Here's the link :)
I hope you are all doing well and not stressing out too much. My advice to you all is to work a little on your project every day instead of stressing out and plowing through it all on Monday and Tuesday next week. As they say, slow and steady wins the race.
Someone also asked me if they could do X and Z if they wanted. You are all welcome to add them in but as I said earlier, you won't be given extra marks for them.
Remember to relax and enjoy your holiday :)

When's the book due?

The Book of Letters assignment is due on the Friday the 28th. We will be finishing up the novel on Wednesday when we get back and Friday I will give you a bit of class time to get your Book of Letters together (about 1/2 hour) and then you will have a bit of time to check out other groups' books. We'll also tie up any loose ends that day and then it's farewell to Mr. Baggins and onto something new. I will also be handing out a checklist on Wednesday for your book of letters so that you are sure you have all the components I am requesting.
so is there any time in class on wednesday to work on our books?
I will give you time on Friday to put your books together. Wednesday's class will be for covering the last few chapters of the book.
i was wondering are u only going to actually read and mark three? when whats the point of us making 12 letters, when we could;ve just chose three letters and put more work into those three.
I will be reading and looking at ALL of your entries. As per the assignment sheet, all your entries will be marked on mechanics and content (this will be out of 48 possible marks).IN ADDITION, I will be picking 2 entries from each student randomly to be marked on the 6 point scale X2 for a total of an additional 24 marks. This means that all your entries as a whole are worth twice as much as the two that I will be selecting for a close reading.
In addition to the mechanical and content marks, you will also be marked on the creativity/ clarity of your projects as a whole which means that I will be looking at ALL the entries to assess this mark.
I will be handing out a checklist tomorrow so that you can double check you have included everything.
